Baseado em diversas experiências, ele apresenta algumas ideias do que deve ser evitado:
1) Não queira ser o melhor de tudo, quem tem sucesso em seus objetivos, normalmente não tem esta pretensão entre suas prioridades;
2) Você não terá um desempenho extraordinário, seguindo os passos dos outros, neste caminho, você nunca conseguirá ir além;
3) Nunca estabeleça metas que sejam impossíveis de serem atingidas, forçando as pessoas a entregarem os resultados desejados através de ameaças;
4) Ir para o topo o mais rápido possível, também pode ser um erro
Apresenta, também, quatro forças inspiradoras:
1) Ter um sonho inspirador, quem alcança seus objetivos normalmente o faz buscando sonhos, não KPIs ou métricas mais fechadas;
2) Trilhar um caminho incomum, sem seguir o tempo inteiro os passos alheios;
3) Ter um crescimento sustentável, no tempo certo;
4) Estabelecer objetivos através do compartilhamento com as pessoas,
