This is my first post on this thread and thank you in advance for reading/responding.
I was recently hired as a marketing manager for an IT start up and I’m feeling pretty lost(ish). I’ve had this sort of role before, but i wasn’t the ‘marketing manager’ – I was more so an assistant, but did most of the heavy lifting.
The job I just mentioned was a job I had in college. When I graduated I was a content manager, but left that for this new role since it had more responsibilities and duties (and increased salary).
However, I almost feel lost and a bit frozen. I dont even know where to begin with my new job.
The company is so small, yet growing rapidly and it’s entirely remote. So far, I’ve been doing everything I can to piece together information on the company.
But, where do I begin?
The company doesn’t have any sort of marketing plan, loose branding guidelines, and zero organization. I know their SharePoint needs a facelift along with their company website and social media.
I have an idea where to begin, but I’m afraid I’ll get lost in the details.
If you were in my position, or want to give me advice, what would you tell me?
For background information, I have my google certs, and I’ve been reading up on marketing articles, tips, etc. I’m just feeling a bit dizzy from the articles and videos.
