I’m turning 20 years old in 3 weeks and I’m just now finally figuring out what field I want to have a career in, so it’s a late start. I went to one year of university but halfway through that something happened which impacted my ability to pay. Now I’m thousands in debt and don’t even have the degree to show, but genuinely I’d like to avoid going back to school if I can. I know it’s better to have an associates than nothing but the money situation isn’t the greatest haha.
Anyways I’m really interested in graphic design, marketing and digital marketing as well as social media. When I was 14-16 I used to do graphic design and simple thread coding for free on this design forum, and I also ran a Twitter fan account (still have it, just don’t use it as much!) that reached 10k followers. I realized doing those things was when I was genuinely happy, and I’d love to actually enjoy my job. It’s not that I’m just giving this a go cause I’m too lazy to go to school, I just brushed it off when I was younger cause I thought my path was college.
But I’m really not even sure where to start or what the path looks like and what I need to be doing to put myself ahead and make some good money as well.
I know I can’t ask if it’s “worth it” cause that’s up to me, but I’d like to know if there’s good potential based on my circumstances.
I have a lot of drive and a fantastic work ethic, and I have job experience (I work at an insurance agency full time now to pay bills, so that has gotten me lead experience as well as customer service…but I definitely hate the job).
Thank you in advance, any advice will be so helpful!!:)
